You’ve been studying the rules of the road to pass your instruction permit test. You’ve probably taken other practice tests to help you learn those rules. But our free Wisconsin Fines and Limits permit practice test is different. It’s not about how to drive properly. Instead, it’s about the possible consequences if you or another driver does something wrong, including the proper ways to deal with accidents or the official penalties you might face. Some of these practice questions are hard. But you should know the answers, not just for your instruction permit test but also to be prepared as a driver should something go wrong.
This Fines and Limits permit practice test is up to date as of November 2024. The 50 questions on this practice test are based on Wisconsin’s official driver’s manual (Wisconsin DMV Handbook (WI Driver's Manual) 2024) and the Wisconsin Statutes & Annotations. The questions and answers on this test address issues like these: Which accidents must be reported to the police? Which offenses can result in your license being suspended or revoked? What are the consequences of accumulating excessive points on your driving record? Is there any way to get those points reduced? How much will you be fined for driving an uninsured vehicle? How much will you be fined if you’re found guilty of using a hand-held cell phone while driving? (You should know these fines for your permit test.)
As with all the permit practice tests we offer, each question on the Wisconsin Fines and Limits permit practice test comes with an optional hint and an explanation of the correct answer, courtesy of our automated assistant.
